This is one of my favourite ways to start the day. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- I struggle with water intake. I try to drink a variety of fluids daily but “drink water” is still on my to-do list without fail.
I just find water a little….boring. This nourishing tea blend is rose, holy basil and peppermint.
Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum) is a fantastic plant medicine. It’s a nervine- helping with stress and mental clarity, it clears mucous from the lungs and upper respiratory tract which is especially helpful for me (anyone else get the thickest mucous from COVID? 🤧), it’s antiviral and as a bitter carminative, it helps appetite by warming our digestive fire 🔥!
Peppermint not only adds a lot of flavour, it also helps the release of digestive juices, similarly to holy basil- it’s also a nervine! I love herbs that help me get into a calm state, this is so important for mental function and digestion!
Rose is a dear herb, very close to my heart. During my time in college, I got very close to quite a few herbs- rose being one of them. Rose is a wonderful pairing with holy basil and amplifies the calm, serene and supportive nature of the two above herbs 💕🌿
Because none of these herbs contain caffeine, this is a hydrating tea and counts 100% to my water intake goals.
What is your favourite and fun way to meet you water intake goals? 💦
