I saw these on sale at my grocery store and decided to give these another shot- I tried them years ago and found the taste to beā¦acquired š
What sparked my interest in this tropical fruit was the highly bioavailable carotene and antioxidant compounds!
šµPapaya contains more lycopene than a tomato
šµsome research shows that the carotenes from papaya is better absorbed than from other fruits
šµantioxidant content protects you from š«disease, high blood pressure, inflammation and even cancer!
ā«ļø eating a spoonful of the seeds once a day for a week has been a bit of a trend online as a remedy to kill parasites however not much research has been done to support if the seeds actually antiparasitic
ā«ļø the seeds are high in omega-9 fatty acids, glucosinolates, and potent antioxidant compounds
ā«ļøI tried a spoonful out of curiosity and they have a really delicious spicy peppery flavour! (I actually enjoyed it more than the fruit itself š)
ā«ļø dry the seeds and use them in place of black peppercorns!
I ended up making a smoothie containing:
šĀ¼ of a papaya
š1 small frozen banana
šlime juice
š ½ tsp dried ginger
š ½ tsp lucuma powder
šĀ½ tsp maca powder
šĀ½ tsp bee pollen
šĀ½ cup vanilla kefir
šĀ¼ cup pomegranate juice
