🧡PAPAYA🧡

I saw these on sale at my grocery store and decided to give these another shot- I tried them years ago and found the taste to be…acquired 😋

What sparked my interest in this tropical fruit was the highly bioavailable carotene and antioxidant compounds!

🏵Papaya contains more lycopene than a tomato

🏵some research shows that the carotenes from papaya is better absorbed than from other fruits

🏵antioxidant content protects you from 🫀disease, high blood pressure, inflammation and even cancer!

⚫️ eating a spoonful of the seeds once a day for a week has been a bit of a trend online as a remedy to kill parasites however not much research has been done to support if the seeds actually antiparasitic

⚫️ the seeds are high in omega-9 fatty acids, glucosinolates, and potent antioxidant compounds

⚫️I tried a spoonful out of curiosity and they have a really delicious spicy peppery flavour! (I actually enjoyed it more than the fruit itself 🙈)

⚫️ dry the seeds and use them in place of black peppercorns!

I ended up making a smoothie containing:

🍌¼ of a papaya

🍌1 small frozen banana

🍌lime juice

🍌 ½ tsp dried ginger

🍌 ½ tsp lucuma powder

🍌½ tsp maca powder

🍌½ tsp bee pollen

🍌½ cup vanilla kefir

🍌¼ cup pomegranate juice
