I have had a rollercoaster ride with supplementation. From not taking any when I probably should have to taking way too many when I shouldn’t have to now finding my sweet spot.

First of all, let me say that supplements are to do exactly that, be used to “supplement” your diet- the place you should be getting the majority of your vitamins, minerals, amino acids etc. Using supplements in place of fruits, veggies and other amazingly nutrient-dense rich foods takes away from holistically eating, my area of expertise 👩🏻‍🎓

Secondly, do not go broke trying to buy every supplement that catches your eye at the health food store. Please, please, PLEASE get what you can from diet and enhance this with a few supplements as needed.

Finally, what I take is not what you should take. What I mean by this is, just like the Canada food guide not really being an accurate depiction of what EVERY individuals necessarily needs to fuel themselves, there is no one size fits all for nutrition nor supplements. I would highly recommend reaching out to your local nutritionist or dietician to get a professional opinion.

I used to take SO many supplements. I would stand in the kitchen and pop capsule after capsule...without noticing many benefits to be honest. I have narrowed down my supplementation to things that do benefit my health and can say with confidence that I truly enjoy.

🌿omega 3- always purchase a high-quality oil (no Jamieson’s 🙅🏻‍♀️)- I use this for brain health, inflammation, it’s evidence in fighting against depression and anxiety, etc

🌿iron- I recently found a brand that I am so happy with! Highly absorbable with no constipation or tummy ache side effects has vitamin c for optimal absorption and spirulina! I included a picture of it in the second slide.

🌿milk thistle capsules- I make these (and sell them 😉) I use this as a liver tonic as research shows it’s compounds protect liver cells from chemical damage. It’s highly effective in several liver diseases and can restore liver damage caused by alcohol (I had a wild early 20’s 🥴)

🌿microdose of psilocybin mushrooms + chaga, reishi, turkey tail, cordyceps, lions mane. My superstar capsule 🤩🍄 I love these mushrooms for treating depression, anxiety, creativity and so much more. Warning if you ever see me and bring up mushrooms, I will gush for hours.
